I am so lucky to have chosen this week to do a little bit of maintenance work on Langdale Lodge. The weather has been amazing, even risked a few walks without the coats and hats! The lodge has been very well received and fully booked since October 2021, the next time it is available is for four nights in May 2022 so has been really busy.  Have put the cushions on the decking furniture and even had lunch outside, with being on South facing plots we are able to make the most of this glorious sunshine!

We have had more stones put down on the car parking and in front of the lodge too.  I went to Greenlands Farm Village www.greenlandsfarmvillage.co.uk  yesterday and ordered three lovely pots full of springtime flowers for the front too, am excited to pick them up later today.  Whilst I was there I bought some ‘duck food’, I have had two ducks in the garden all week and have bought some cracked corn as apparently they love it and it is very good for them.  I have researched some eco-friendly bags and going to start leaving little bags of duck food for my younger visitors.

I have added heart shaped wreaths to the gates of both lodges, am off out again today to track down some Easter type decorations to add to them as the day will be upon us very soon!  I love trying to add these little touches to my guests stay and they seem to be appreciated.  I get most of my inspiration from walking around the site early in the morning (I have a half hour circular route plotted), its such a beautiful place!!

Waters Edge restaurant/bar (https://www.pure-leisure.co.uk/parks/lake-district/south-lakeland-leisure-village/5-facilities/waters-edge-restaurant/ ) is now serving breakfast sandwiches each morning.  Obviously we had to do a ‘taste test’ for our guests – definitely recommend, feel like we have to ‘try’ the full menu just in case, maybe more than once too, always good to check standards!!  Also, they have upgraded the outside seating area with new decking, seats and sun-shades – it really is a great place to sit and admire the lake – they have a perfect tag-line ‘Brew with a View’, very fitting.
